In response to strong consumer demand, Johnson & Johnson · Merck brings back the heartburn, acid indigestion, gas, and upset stomach relief of MYLANTA® Classic in MYLANTA® Regular and Maximum strength liquids. Featuring the original classic taste of MYLANTA® that consumers prefer, it is identical to the original MYLANTA® and contains the same active ingredients as the currently available MYLANTA® products.

How is MYLANTA® Classic different from the liquid Mylanta products currently available?
MYLANTA® Classic is currently available in MYLANTA® Regular and Maximum Strength liquid. They have different preservative systems. While the Mylanta Classic label states that the preservative does not meet USP standards, both systems are safe and effective when used as directed and MYLANTA® Classic has the taste that consumers prefer.

Does MYLANTA® Classic work better than the other MYLANTA® products currently available?
MYLANTA® Classic provides the same fast, effective relief of heartburn, acid indigestion, and gas as the other MYLANTA® liquid products. You can be assured that MYLANTA® Classic is safe and effective when used as directed.

How should the liquid MYLANTA® Antacid/Anti-Gas liquids be stored? Do they require refrigeration?
Regular Strength MYLANTA® Antacid/Anti-Gas liquid and Maximum Strength MYLANTA® Antacid/Anti-Gas liquid should be stored at room temperature. This remedy does not require refrigeration. As the package label states, "Do not freeze," since this will cause breakdown of the suspension.

Can I give MYLANTA® to children with heartburn, acid indigestion, or upset stomach?
Most MYLANTA® products are formulated for adults. In these cases, the package label will clearly state, "Children under 12: Ask a doctor." Fortunately, we offer Children's MYLANTA® chewable tablets, a heartburn and acid indigestion remedy specially formulated to be safe, gentle, and effective for kids.

How long can I safely take MYLANTA® Gas?
There is no time limit on the package label. But, if you experience stomach symptoms on a continued basis, we recommend that you consult your physician.

MYLANTA® Gas provides a quick remedy and handy treatment for bloating, pressure, and the discomfort of gas caused by certain foods (such as beans, bran, and broccoli) or by swallowing air.

I am currently taking another drug. May I also use MYLANTA® Gas?
Yes. There have been no reports of interactions between simethicone, the anti-gas medicine in MYLANTA® Gas, and other drugs. If you have further questions about medicine interactions, we suggest you ask your doctor or pharmacist.

Upset stomach is a common condition in which a child may feel discomfort or heartburn associated with acid indigestion or sour stomach. Four out of five children may occasionally suffer from upset stomach.

What is the cause of upset stomach in children?
One common cause of upset stomach in children is the production of excess stomach acid. The many causes of excess stomach acid include overeating, food sensitivities, viral infections, and several unknown factors.

How do I know when my child has an upset stomach?
Children with upset stomachs often hold their stomachs or complain of a "tummy ache." Some initial symptoms include decreased appetite, less energy for play, lying down, crankiness, complaints of pain or discomfort, or pale complexion.
